At the C.J.J.U. our primary objective is to provide Black Belt holders and Dojo owners across Canada and elsewhere in the World, with an opportunity to become better qualified Jiu-Jitsu teachers. Home Study Correspondence Courses are available to those who may reside in remote areas of Canada and/or in other remote areas.
Professor Georges Sylvain, 10th Degree Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and the founder of the Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu System, retired in 2008 after 50 years of teaching Jiu-Jitsu. He turned over the complete responsibilities of the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Union’s objectives, operations, management and administration to Ed Hiscoe, Hanshi. Ed Hiscoe Hanshi, Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Union President, continues to operate and teach at his Dojo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. And Kyoshi Steve Hiscoe, Vice President of the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Union, operates his Dojo in Chilliwack British Columbia.
